What makes my approach unique is my ability to quickly identify each student’s individual learning style and then adapt my methods accordingly. Rather than forcing students into a one-size-fits-all model, I come alongside each child to guide, encourage, and provide exactly the tools they need to succeed. I focus on building confidence alongside skills, because I’ve learned that when children feel capable and supported, remarkable progress follows.

My foundation begins with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and four decades of hands-on teaching experience. This extensive background spans traditional classroom settings, one-on-one instruction, in-person sessions, and online learning environments—giving me a comprehensive understanding of how children learn across different contexts.

Among my specialized training is Orton-Gillingham methodology, a highly structured, multisensory approach that breaks reading and spelling into manageable skills involving letters and sounds, then systematically builds upon them. This evidence-based approach uses sight, hearing, touch, and movement to help students—especially those with dyslexia or lacking phonemic awareness—master decoding and encoding of words. The sequential, systematic instruction ensures students not only learn strategies but understand the “how and why” behind reading.
